Very special attention was given to every detail of this remarkable custom residence to ensure it was free of volatile organic compounds (VOC). Of note is the low-VOC hardwood floor finish, the magnesium blown-in insulation in the exterior walls and ceilings and clay-based paints applied by our clients.

The house is also inspiring architecture. The home sits low on sloping land via entry from a long drive and then rises dramatically to close to 40 feet high on the backside. We installed an airy custom three-story steel stairwell to span the levels. It is a focal point of the home, coming up into the center of the house and is completed by thick fir treads milled from the trees cleared from the site. There are close to 70 windows and doors. The kitchen is entertaining sized, there are two decks and a piano room. A music major and classical pianist, our client has finally realized his dream for space to enjoy and perform on his Steinway Grand.
